Ceremony

Have you ever dreamed of a "white chapel wedding"? With soaring 30 foot ceilings, original stained glass windows, ornate gold trim work, and our one-of-a-kind 12 foot chandelier, this timeless space is the perfect place for your wedding ceremony. The original church pews can comfortably hold up to 175 guests on the main level. 

Balcony

With additional seating for up to 60 guests, the balcony is a great space for ceremony overflow, a cocktail hour, or a one-of-a-kind first look for you and your loved one. With floor to ceiling stained glass windows, the natural light pours in making this the perfect spot for photos and video, all while gazing into one of the largest crystal chandeliers in Kansas City. 

Reception

As you step into the lower level reception space of Melrose Abbey you will be greeted by countless crystal chandeliers, high end LED accent lighting, beautiful custom trim work, and space for up to 200 around a large dance floor & bar. With a full catering prep space just off the room, a buffet or plated dinner is a classy affair for all, with no details spared in the design. Guests will be seated in gold chiavari chairs topped with white leather cushions, with various table sizes and styles available to create the custom layout of your dreams. The reception space also includes a beautiful social lounge and guest restroom area. ​

Bar

Step into our custom bar right next to the reception dance floor. You and your guests will be greeted by a stunning 4 foot custom stone bar, & beautiful antique mirrored glass shelves topped with all of the finest of glassware. Staffed by highly skilled and professional bartenders, your choice of various custom bar packages including all of your favorite beers, seltzer, house & top shelf liquors, signature drinks, and more are available throughout the evening. Our full service bar includes everything you need from a simple event, to the most elegant affair.  

Bridal Lounge

As a bride at Melrose Abbey, you will feel like a true princess. Our bridal suite is one of the largest in Kansas City featuring ample plush seating, 8 hair and makeup stations with custom LED lighting, full wet bar, and full on-suite restroom with a beautiful walk-in shower. The sweet smell, custom lighting, ample hooks, and bluetooth speaker are just some of the small perks of this large space. Spoil yourself, your wedding party, and your family with access to this stunning lounge for the entirety of your wedding day with us, and if this isn't enough, there is a Junior Bridal lounge across the hall with even more space, that even has a private "lookout" into the ceremony space as guests arrive. 

Groom's Lounge

What used to be the original pastor's office in this historic church, is now the perfect space to hang with the guys and get ready for your wedding day. Featuring a 100 year old stone fireplace, 65" flat screen TV, custom furniture & chandeliers, full wet-bar, and on-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, this room has everything you need. As you enter, a warm sensual smell will captivate you as your eyes are drawn to the endless details that make this space masculine, welcoming, and relaxing. We believe that every groom should have a place to unwind, refresh, and spoil his groomsmen, and this is the perfect place to do just that.

Office & Lobby

Sometimes having a quiet space to step away, write your vows, enjoy a private dinner, or escape the party for a few minutes, is hard to accomplish in a bustling wedding venue. Our lobby welcomes you with stunning art, custom furniture, and countless artifacts from the 100 year history of the church on display. Just off the lobby is our office where we will end our tours, put together proposals & design your dream wedding together at each of our many meetings after booking with us. This multi-use space is also available for use with a full hotel buyout as a gathering place for your family and friends!

Hotel Suites

If a 14 hour rental on the day of your wedding isn't enough, we invite you to stay overnight with us! We are currently in the process of adding 4 large hotel suites to the venue that will have overnight accomodations for up to 24 guests onsite! Featuring various room sizes including and ADA king room, a one bedroom "honeymoon" suite with lounge and wet bar, a two bedroom suite with full kitchen and living room, and three bedroom suite with full kitchen and living room. These rooms will be designed with ultimate luxury, comfort, and everything you need to get a restful nights sleep either before or after (or both) the event of your dreams.
